Hello, Currently, three programs are available as part of the REPLACE program suite---GLRF, TF, and ANGCAL. GLRF - Rotation function program, with other options (Version 4.1) TF - Translation function program (Version 4.1) ANGCAL - A convenient calculator for manipulating angles/matrices/vectors I should also mention that I now have a new program, COMO, for molecular replacement structure determination with an atomic model. This essentially replaces the function of the TF program and part of the GLRF program. To load the programs, place the distribution tar file (replace.tar.gz) in a separate directory (for example, Replace/). Then give the commands gunzip replace.tar.gz tar -xvf replace.tar You'll see the following sub-directories - Glrf, Tf, Test, and bin. The Glrf and Tf directories contain the program documentation (as a TeX and a PostScript file) and some example input files. ANGCAL has online documentation, just type help after starting the program. The program documentations are also available in HTML version through my web site (http://como.bio.columbia.edu/tong). The bin directory contains the executables, for Irix6.3 and Linux operating systems. There is also a version for Mac OS X. A test case is provided for the GLRF and TF programs. This is in the directory Test. Please read the file 00readme in that directory to see what the test cases are and how to run them. These input files can also serve as example input files to the programs. I would appreciate any comments, suggestions, and especially bug reports from the users. Also, if you reference this program in your publications, please send me the journal reference of your paper. Best wishes Liang ltong@columbia.edu
